Hey
Heres some pics of my CAI i put on today.

It is some 4 inch flexible ducting into the stock box sucking air from behind the front bumper.

Im thinking about cutting a section out of the bumper aswell and covering it in black mesh for a bit of a ram air effect.
Also im thinking about gettin a belllmouth to go on the end oy the duct. Do yous think it will be worth it or a waste of time, their fairly cheap.

What sort of ducting is that and where did you get it?

Another alternative to a bellmouth is to get a 4" piece of polypipe (the stuff gutter downpipes are made from). Heat up one end with a heat gun so that it goes a little soft and then push it over an inverted funnel so that the end gets flared out. Then clean the edges up with some fine sandpaper. You may be able to jam it inside your ducting and then clamp it on using a ring gear clamp or zip ties.

^^ if you are going to make a bellmouth, then it is not an alternative to a bellmouth........

i got the ducting from revolution race gear because it was the only place i could find with 4 inch duct. It is proper ducting made to direct air for brakes and stuff. It cost $20 per foot and i used about 1.5 feet of it.

That's good ducting for sure. I used the stuff that's meant for vent hood ducting. Made of thin aluminium.

Good work in making the CAI! Very nice!
I would recommend you get a bellmouth as it really does help make a ram effect especially at high speed. We did a back to back run with a knN filter in the engine bay to the CAI with bellmouth and gained 6fwkw's throughout the rev range. Here's a pic of mine.

It's a spectre velocity funnel from Autobarn. Just $20 and its made of plastic so its light as! I think a lot of guys in the US use these!

This is my alternative for a bellmouth that I made for my dc2 jdm front integra, works great too! :D

That looks sweet, sifu. How'd you make that? Do you have a vacuum former or something?

^^ Nope, no vacuum former here. You just got to play around with fibreglass a bit and do some molding.

I can make some extras/spares and put them up for sale if anyone is interested.

i havent put on a bellmouth just yet because i put the bumper back on and forgot to measure how much room there is beind it. I have to pull it back off soom but to give it a paint so ill measure it then.

Just thought I'd add, if you use a bellmouth, be sure to attach it properly haha Mine sat in place on its own because the pipe was that mouldable stuff that locks in shape, so I only attached it at one point.

When I was going rather fast on a windy day, the air pressure disconnected the bellmouth/trumpet and forced it under the wheel, dragging the whole slinky pipe with it and ripping the 1/4 panel liner with it. Not a huge problem, but could easily had have been avoided if I realised how much force is applied to the trumpet at high speeds.

Your air duct looks an awful lot like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-DC2-Honda-Acura-Integra-Js-Racing-Air-Duct-93-00_W0QQitemZ120060350395QQihZ002QQcategoryZ38634QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
