as the title suggests i need help with making my CAI...

I will be boxing in my pod but do not know what these 2 pipes do (see below), like if they are sucking in cold or hot air and if so wich one or both....

That's your resonator bro. Since you've already got a Short ram installed, you won't be needing it anymore. Just take the whole thing out and you'll be fine!
There's a how-to in th DIY section, Search is your best friend.

Those pipe are nothing more that the old piping from the stock intake system.

There is an aftermarket intake now installed in that photo, which make the piping you marked redundant.

Someone has installed the new intake, but obviously could not be bothered removing the resonator box that those 2 pipes are connected to.

With that setup in the photo, those pipes are doing nothing and you can remove them and the resonator box buy taking off your front bar to access the box.

lol.
well its because the air travels straight into the box which gives it a quicker response,
unlike exposed pod filters which suck in hot air
even with your stock box on you can still put a CAI,
by removing the resonator then installing a piping straight to the bottom of your stock airbox out to a custom made hole or the front bar grill etc etc.

use ur imagination

like everyone has said, what is left is your resonator, which is not doing anything.
