Are there any aftermarket cam for them or I'll need to get the stock cam regrinded? What else I can do to it to get a bit more oomph outta it? No need to tell me get a B-series transplant, I've got other cars for that kinda stuff ;)

What sorta power I can expect out of the mods you guys suggest? I am planning to keep the airbox with the Unifilter foam.

Oh..one question - if I somehow get a DC2 ITR muffler, will I gain anything or it's a waste of time?

Thanks :)

bang for buck, prolly a mini-me conversion (ecu + d16y1 VTEC head + ur block) will give u more compression + different cam with vtec. im sure u can pick up a head for pretty cheap as entire y1's or y8's go for ~600 including gearbox.

WHile ur at it, grab a y8 or y1 gearbox which has better gear ratio's, lightend flywheel and use a y1 or y8 intake manifold. Then get a catback (2.25") or headers + exhaust done at a custom exhaust shop, dont bother with an ITR muffler.

And tyhere u have it, a more potent d-series on for around $1000.

Weq I think our Y8/1 and Y4 have the same gearbox and intake manifold. Isn't it just the American Civics that have cheapies in the DX?

Oh and by the way, I thought you weren't allowed to use a Y1 (Z6?) head because it is off an older car. I know in Queensland you can't put an older engine in a newer car.

head != engine.
post a pick of ur intake mnaifold and i'll compare it to mine
i doubt they are the same as they are designed for different purposes.

Also note that the D16Y4 is known as a D16Y7 over there.

You can get a decent D series turbo setup for next to nothing. I'll never hear the end of this from MrChook, though.
