Interesting Article from this mornings Sydney Morning Herald Drive pullout about Police introducing a new range of hybrid vehicles which includes the Honda Civic Hybrid.



The Introduction of hybrid cars is part of a restructure of the police fleet in include more environmentally friendly vehicles.
Hoons should not get excited about the news, though. The highway patrol will continue to use the V8 and the turbocharged sedans.

Following a two-year trial with early model Toyota Prius sedans driven by crime scene investigators, up to 30 hybrid vehicles - about 20 new model Toyota Prius sedans and 10 Honda Civic Hybrids - will join the ranks full-time by early next year,

from the civic brochure i got the new civic hybrid makes 85kw at 6,000rpm from 1.3 going through 4.6L/100KM.

just hope when they loss the crimals they dont use teh car as a excuess...

hrm... this is good as it could possibly trigger more intrest in the mass production for higher performance eletcric cars.
