5stud? That's not a brake kit. That's a type of hub assembly, like a 4 stud. Wilwood makes awesome kits but I am not sure they have a rear kit for the Honda yet, I don't really use them on imports. I do know Baer has a front and rear kit for the Honda and for both kits and a proportioning valve it's about $1400USD/1825AUD plus shipping. Brembo makes kits as you know but are considerably more and don't do more then the Baer and Wilwoods in my opinion.

i think he meant 5 stud from a dc2r.

work out the useable overall surface area of both setups danny..
measure up both sizes diameter... then use A= pr2 minus the inner circles (hub area etc) to work out which rotor / caliper combo has better efficiency.
Also the wilwood is 4 piston as you say and the DC2R is only 1 isnt it ?

id say depending on your budget..and the use of your car ??
is the brakes for show purposes ?
do u track your car ?
if u have the money and willng to fork out for the 4 pots then i would..
but if your just slightly upgrading your brakes then dc2r conversion is quite adequate...even for track. just get a good set of pads.
unless u have alot of $$ then i dont think its worth getting the 4 pot wilwoods.

ill say again ~ go for something bolt on Danny. ITR calipers / rotors with proper vented discs for extra measure. And ill buy ur EG6 ones off u ;)

How thick is the willwood rotor? Also dont forget to upgrade you master cylinder.

lol thanks i know what u mean but yeah if u say 5 stud u know it's a 5 stud conversion not a brake it around here lol thanks for your inout though
i dunno im tossing up between the willwood kit or the ITR caipers and disc idea.though..
I dont track my car but i do plan to..
thing is my car cant stop consistantly with the new set up..
i've burnt half my coolant due to the rotors being over heaten up and the brake dont feel too great..and they take quite alot of time to stop the car from higher speed...
all i want is something that can stop me in time.
also on my minds were spoon calipers but they cost a arm and a leg. lol
i might start saving up for it

Just get some descent pads and discs man. The stock calipers will do their job fine.
i just upgraded to Endless type CC-X pads with Slotted rotors (all OEM size) and i have halved my braking distance easily. The only thing lackin now is my suspension cause i swear i hit my front bumper on the ground. newer suspension will definately improve my braking efficiency as well because the braking force will go to the tyres sooner instead of gettin caught up in spongey ass suspension.
4 pot is for ballers....im a player. ;)

However the four pot should make you stop much harder. I am biased though :).

4 pot does stop harder.
BUT, can your tyres handle the hard stopping.
but either way, 4 pot > type r
and yes, that is in my exp.

Is it correct to say that if you can lock your tyres up your calipers are good enough???

Could be looked upon in a different light. Poor tyres, so doesnt take much to lock the tyres up.

5 stud conversion and willwood setup would cost around the same amount. if we are just looking at performance side of things, willwood would be the better option.
If you seriously just want to stop better without the bling, that's cheap, i reckon go the ITR/Prelude caliper/rotor redrill method.

yes, definately. however if you've got good tyres and your capable of lockin up haven't you reached that limit??

not quite.. you want a high effiecincy of braking.
you can still pull up faster with bigger brakes than normal ones, even though, it's possible for both of the setups to lock up.

Yeah but thats all to do with surface area.

thanks for your input guys.
dang u got some figures that i can use as guidelines?
for the ITR calipers and rotors redrilled methods?

danny, use CRV calipers, get prelude rotors 4 studed one(4x114.3 then redrill to 4x100), machine the caliper braket by 2-3mm. then your laughing.
i got a set here, pm me if you want them.

incoming had that exact setup on his EG hatch (the car be bought from owen). those brakes are amazing. kinda scary actually.
edit: that was on the street, you'd have to ask him how they handle on the track...

danny you changing your rear and front? or just talking about front?
i was finking of the teg' 4x100 setup for front, get some GOOD pads, braided lines and slotted rotors with upgraded mc, booster, value .. plus you can fit smaller rim sizes on that setup. most aftermarket 16"+ and i wanted to keep my 15"s.. for my ek... long time considered too, would be easy/cheaper to replace rotors and pads, since its just the OEM size.. i think.
