hey guys and girls

just finished a b18c7 type-r conversion into a EJ civic coupe
man this wasnt a easy job and all for $2000 labour! i got ripped :( but i learnt alot out of it and it was fun but also tired and sore

well i gonna write up what i've have done to make it work cause i cant find a write up on a b18c into a EJ or EK. so hope this help for all the people who wants to do this conversion. i might done some things wrong or in a different way but feel free to comment

will update 2morro cause it late and i just finished the conversion

i wish i have taken picture to make everything more easier to understand but i dont
its a EJ civic coupe and i had a smashed but whole car ingetra type-r DC2
did the engine swap along with brakes and hubs

just the basic of what you need to make the conversion successful not going into depth in taking the engine out

- i used the EJ engine mounts for the gearbox and lower gearbox and the lower timing side engine mount
for the top on the timing side cover i used the DC2 and used the EJ mounts and plate. the plate you have to drill the holes closer
- gotta change the crossmember which consist of the p/s rack too (what i've heard it steers betta)
so use both dc2 rear engine mount along with the crossmember
- dc2 gearshift linkages
- use the dc2 abs unit but it doesnt fit any of the mounts so u have to custom make it to fit
- dc2 radiator and a/c condensor along with the dc2 a/c hoses, need to drill hole to fit the a/c condensor and make up custom brakets to hold in the radiator
- dc2 front pipe and EJ cat but u have to cut the flange of the cat and rotate it so it lines up with the front pipe
- dc2 front brakes and hubs and suspension but the rear u have to use the EJ suspension and lower control arms where the suspension connect. dc2 handbrake cable and abs unit for the brakes
- dc2 fuel pump
- dc2 steering columb

change the whole wiring loom from both side and inside the car so u have to remove the complete dash and heater and air-con units. use the dc2 heater and a/c unit from the inside but the vents are slightly position incorrectly but it still good to use and i still get air coming through

you have to rewire the dimming knob, the clock and use the dc2 harzard light switch and defroster for the rear window. i also use the dc2 dash (rev and speed)
rewire the headlight plugs and indicator
there a plug that goes the the rear lights that also need to be rewired

if there anything u need to ask or i missed out feel free i cant think of anything else

i will and try and get pics and it took me 1 months just weekend working on it
no rush just taking it easy. getting it started was easy no problem at all cause i use everything from the dc2, just gotta rewire interior lights and headlights,
it goes hard too

whoosh!

Many congrats.. you must be proud.. ..

It seems like u changed an awful lot of parts...
you proabably could have just got ek4 engine loom (direct plug in for obd2a ITR ecu) and kept stock radiator and condensor..

Anyways.. you car sounds cool..

have u got the steering rack in?... ahahha want a review..

If it isnt too late, i would revert back to orginal and just get an ek4 engine side harness for $150.. You will be done in 2 hrs

i search on the forum but nothing to be found on EJ or EK
too late anyways and atleast the car back on the road, the steering seems to be normal i cant feel any differences

wouldnt a dc2 radiator be betta cause it much bigger thats why i change it
wouldnt know if the small civic one can handle it
