I am a noob at suspension.......are koni yellows height adjustable? and if so, is it more advisable to get a mechanic to lower it if i wanted it lowered?

yes,
not just a jack, you willl need to firstly get the whole assembly off the ground so its fully uncompressed, if there is still pressure from the spring pushing on the spring perch, you will need to compress the spring - using a spring compressor, see my signature (which is a fvking b1tch), then pull the spring perch down.
if the spring is free to move, then moving the perch is nice and easy.
never get under the car unless u have the car adequately multi point jacked.

it takes about 1/2 hr to do in ym car thats with springs that are loose and heeps low

normally ~ about .5-2 hrs depending on springs etc.
Since you are a "noob" i suggest you pay someone to do it. In QLD i see , pm egSi for help.
