Hey Guys,
Anyone know the procedure on how to reprogram a honda remote to respond to your car? I have a 98 Legend and I want to reprogram a remote to my car... but not sure how... any ideas?

i'm pretty sure it still uses the red key system
so you need your red key
buy a black key get it cut, bring it to honda, get it programmed.

if you don't have a red key, you'd have to buy a new imboliser unit, then get it cut, and programmed.

Is this still for the remote? I do not have a red key... and FYI there are locksmiths who can cut black keys without the use of the red key...

you can cut them, but you have to bring it back to a hodna dealer to re program them.

if it's just the remote, bring it to honda again, and they should be able to program it to your car, which you may still need the red key becuase of the imboliser.

I cant remember the exact process

1 turn the ignition on and press the button on remote , turn ignition off,
2 turn the ignition on and press the button on remote , turn ignition off,
3 turn the ignition on and press the button on remote , car will acknowledge by changing the state of the door locks.

then you press the lock button on each remote.

now I could be wrong, but I remember it being something like that.

I've been told it was:
1.Turn ignition (not turn car on)
2.Press unlock
3.Turn to Acc
4.Turn to ignition
5.Press lock... repeat 3 times

Tried it.. it didnt work.. argh!.. I think when they said ignition it means turn it one notch after Acc... would this be correct?
