Well I just got my car back from the shop with a fresh engine (Stock) in it. It's all good except the Rev Idle Speed when on "Drive"... It's kind of low and shakes the steering wheel...

Now I don't know much about engines and so on so just a run down on "what could be done" to stop the problem and is it possible for myself to fix the problem without going back to the shop...

Thanx

Sounds like you need a tune.

there is an adjustment scrwe, just loosen it and lift up the idle another 50-100rpm and it will smooth it out

Whre about is this screw located? A picture would help but I'm sure pictures of EF engine bays arn't that easy to come by...

Ummm... you own an ED, not an EF (no such thing as en EF GL). As such you most likely have the twin-carb and need to look for the idle adjust screw between them.

Better option is to take it to Hanny's at Smithfield and have Robbie take a look at it, because if you can't ID an idle adjust screw, you shouldn't be under the bonnet :)

sorry dont have a pic...but if you stand infront of ur engine bay, its to the right hand side of the block near the throttle cable

if you loosen the scew it will not raise the RPM it will make it worse and drop the RPMs,

you need to tighten the screw ( clockwise ) to increace the RPMs

We all gotta learn sumwhere... And i'm a fast learner at technical things so yeah... If I stuff it up thats my fault... Learn from your mistakes

(Yes I've learnt the hard way and had an engine change lol)

Ok so i've taken some pictures of my engine bay...
It's really dirty since the car has just had an engine change and havn't been bothered to clean it...

Can someone now point out where the "idle adjust screw" is?

Thanx guys, I've found it its not the idle screw thats hte problem, something else...

When I set the car not to shake under "Drive" the revs under "Neutral" are around 1200RPM which is way too high so yeah, gotta get the car checked out...

Get the fuel filter which is right next to the fuel tank changed, that is your most liekly culprit. Out of sight, out of mind...
