Hey everyone,

My EG6 needs a power steering pump... I was just wondering is it the same as the pump in the 1300CC Civic?

I have someone coming to look at the car on Ssaturday because its for sale and I want to try get ti sorted ASAP!

Thanks

No it wont be same as a 1.3L civic
u need a B16a power sterring pump.
there are different types of power sterring pumps for the B16a
EG6 and EK4 have similar but different pumps
best bet is to try your local wrecker to get a B16a pump for the B16a

yes as danny said - get the RIGHT one for your application. There are too many "variations" - for a reason.

Sorry to hijack, but an enquiry with Honda just returned that the PS pump for my car is no longer produced or available. - b16a CRX (EF8). Does anyone know which of the variations of b16a pumps fit my car?

Would a b18c one fit btw?

And what reason might that be?

if you can get all the brackets, lines and pump from the same car and a belt that fits you can use any of the b-series pumps.

The pump will probably have a code/marking on the body somewhere which will set it apart from other models

Proportioning valves are the same (30/40, 40/40 etc)

Make sure you get the right one because wreckers don't do refunds :P (I got a 30/40 instead of a 40/40 prop valve.... lol)

Yup. You shouldnt need to question Honda for making "many variations". thats the reason so get the part to suit your car to save on hassle

Turns out when I rinsed the pump out and replaced the pipe its working fine again!

Thanks for all the help guys I appreciate it.

One thing I am susprised at is the way that you guys can just go to a wreckers yard for parts.

JDM... is extremely rare here so I cant!
