View Full Version : Still have idle problem...tried everything..

ok guys heres the problem when at standstills my cars idle goes from 1rpm all the way down to 0 and begins to shudder than goes back up again ,its always varies how bad it is ,So ive been told to clean my throttle body,iacv and i even cleaned my air sensor by my mechanic, yet i still have the problem what else can it be ? plz in need of help bigtime

tps (throttle position sensor) that could be ****ed.
i had the same prob.

i just gouth a second hand throttle body.

this is the throttle body here in the green

i've got a similar problem, mine rev's up and down frrom just above 1k rev up to 2k, but only happens when the engine is warming up, i dunno what it is

I believe you can buy just the tps alone at honda parts department. some cars are attached to the t.b. but most of them are seperate.

i've got da exactly same problem with my ek4..i was just told to replace the air control valve...which i think costs about 200 bucks.

just because you cleaned yor IACV doenst mean its all fixed and its working like its ment to.

try getting another IACV from another car to test to see if that is the problem

make sure your TB butterfly is clean

had a similar problem in my ek4, replaced the battery and all was fine.

hmm have you been playinfg with your "idle screw" You could of played with the wrong one. ( cant rmemeber what the other one is called) but my mate did it to his car and it was reving up and down.

Have you tried a tuneup first? there are alot of things that can affect your idle. My last problem was spark plugs. Less than 5,000km platinum plug.
Somehow one just died.
maybe your timing is out of wack?

well i havent played with any settings idle or etc,I have changed my battery not long ago when my alarm stuffed up on me so its not that ? ill try out the ones mention so far maybe clean out the iacv one more time more in depth,Ive been told it could be this one hose that has to have coolant going through and make sure thats not blocked .

weird problem...

where is the o2 sensor on the engine??? i dont know where mine is on my B16, and how 2 clean it...
