My Teg slammed 4.5 inches

hey people.. this is wat happen when i went into tempe tyres to get my car lowered 2.75 inches rear and 2.5 inches front...
drove away thinking damn this car is low !!!! after countless bottom outs and a broken back i decided to measure it a day or 2 later.. and the result !!! 4.6 inches on the back and 3.6 inches on the front !!
how can they get it sooooooo wrong...?!!?
ill be calling them tomorrow.. we shall see wat they have to say =)

Nah I reckon it looks pretty average - way too low. I dunno, I just have a thing against cars being lowered so much so that you can't see the tyres.

how i measured it was from hub to guard... stock rear was 380mm.. my rear now is 265mm !! big diff

nobb: my wheels are 17's...

i called them up and they said it was my fault for using shorter shocks...
now im gonna have fun tomorrow changing everything around to figure out wat the problem is =(

wow. you managed to drive it like that? look at the camber! wow. I dropped my car as low as it would go on coilovers at a couple of shows last year and it still wasn't that low and there is no way i would dare to drive it (could only fit one finger under the bodykit anyway!)

yeah i manage to drive it !! (with great difficulty).. i live 50 mins away from where i got it lowerd too haha.. and ive been driving it to work everyday..

not using any fancy short shocks =D just stock civic ones heheeh EF to be exact.. they are supposed to have more travel in them then teg ones..
i just hope its not te reason the car is so low

Get ready to replace tyres every 6 months. Oh, and also expect your bump stops to get damaged regularly and other bushes and control arm bushes to crack and also get damaged. ;)

if they farked it up, and it looks like they did. if they do refuse to fix it up and raise ur car to a normal lowered height, then threaten consumer affairs on them, usually gets companies moving real quick. but hopefully wont come to that

ur supposed to have some load on the car when u take it off coz it moves around.. but with the car on the floor i couldnt get underneath...

yeh, u shouldnt be fixing it anyways if all this is cos of the people who lowered it. make them, or perhaps someone better to fix it for u. at least if u go to another pro then u can also get a second opinion as to the fact that its not ur fault your car is too low as u were told

I still wanna know how you get that low! so using the stock EF civic shocks, is that on all four corners and did you have to swap over any other suspension parts? of course this is not to drive around on regularly but it would be nice to have a bit more travel and posibly get the suspension engineered and be able to go as low as i am now, but legally.

hey i dunno how i got this low either haha !! went to hannys today and he told me that the car was so low coz of the shocks =/ ... they are EF civic shocks.. stock.. theyre shorter and they bolt straight in.. no mods needed..
as for the extra travel.. the car is bottoming out on he slightest bump.. dunno if its from the shocks hittin bumps stops or springs so compressed...

shifty stuff man, where did they get the springs from? ordered? or what?
they kings? i know when i did mine a while ago on my crx i told them how much i wanted it lowered, two days later they arrived at the shop i got it done at since they made them for me..

thought came to mind they had them lying around and thought theyd get rid of it to u possibly?! :roll:

my bro got a 91 LS, recently got it done at pedders, did a real good job handles like a go cart.... lowered 3.5 back 3 front (pretty sure) with koni adjustable shocks... no bottoming out or rubbing or anything its beautiful since the shocks are stiff and keeps it from bouncing and hitting whatever...

they supposedly ordered the springs from K-mac.... they said 1 day....took over a week since "the machine broke down" and then "they were out of material"...

pedders dont go lower then 1.5inches though ??

eg when i got tints done a while ago on my crx, i wanted over the legal limit darkness, they agreed by with no receipt...

Unfortunately I have suffered the same fate as yourself from Tempe Tyres.
I had 18" Rims thrown on and they offered to dump it at the same time for $400.
After telling them I wanted 1 inch. My car came back with what they informed was 2 inches.. I dont drive my car alot at the moment but the ride home was not fun.
Not wanting to put the blame straight on them, I went for a checkup at Pedders who confirmed that the dump was over 2.5 inches. My shocks were bottoming out and my poor bump stops were taking a flogging due to it.

I called Tempe Tyres today who informed that the blame was my own as I would of asked for that specification. They would refuse to admit fault. I am paying another visit to the store over the next week to force an agreement on the fix..

well.. i went backwards and forwards.. an NO !! he would not accept the blame !!! (but it would truly be KMACs fault coz they make the springs..)
anyway i was offered a new set of springs at no charge.. i agreed.. and when i said i wanted 2.75 inches he wouldnt do it for me coz he sit it will be just as low.. he wanted me to get 2 inches...
i got sick of arguing so i went straight to kmac showed them the car and said this is how high i want it blah blah.. he said ok and reset the springs at no charge (but i did take them out myself in their car park...they wouldnt do the labour part for me)
and i got a free camber kit in the process.. drove off without paying haha.. thats for f#@king me around..
