hi, im checking out a 93 vti hatch this weekend from a dealer quote price of.. 4k ( including all fees + rwc ) just wondering is this the appropriate price and what sorts of things should i look for when checking out the car.

price wise it would depend on the amount of KM's on the car and also what condition it is in.

Make sure that you check for the regular things such as CV joints creaking when turning at hard lock and slackness in the gearbox when changing gears etc.

In reality there isn't much we can do over the net as its like saying "i want to buy a ball of string which is longer the blue or the white one?"
unless we can see the actual ball its impossible to give you a definitive answer.

In general if the car is in good nick with nothing majorly wrong i'd say for is a great price, dont see too many going for that $

If you look on Carsguide.com.au most of them are between $7k and $12k. So thinking about it $4k is either a bloody good bargain or thrashed to within an inch of its life.

4g for a VTi? seems a little too good to be true...

a little tip - bring a magnet with you. run it along the bumpers. if it falls off then it probably means it has fillings in it (meaning the car has crashed and has been repaired). it may sound like a stupid idea but it works :p

Don't know if rust is a problem down there, but check for the normal quarter panel cancer.
