isnt that via fm radio frequency ?

it sounds shit as.

NOS, i think you can hook up some cables to the aux input on the back of the headunit, and then onto a plug that can fit into ipod headphone socket.

if anybody has more info on this, would be appreciated.

i only ask because the jazz sound system console looks like a biggie to change and add a aftermarket headunit

yes you can get it at big w etc...or places that sell ipods...my bro in law has one in the barina....its an adapter...plus into the cigarette lighter & bottom of ipod...and tunes onto a radio frequency...and plays your ipod through radio waves. Also have the cons of radio - ie...if your reception is getting bad...the sound quality gets worse...but generally its pretty cool though.

I use the Kensington brand FM Tuner which doubles up as a charger for the iPod. (I read that the Kensington blows away any iTrip in terms of quality as the iTrip relies on the iPod batteries compared to the actual Kensington unit connected to the car power socket!). You can have 3 preset frequency so if you do come across interference, you can quickly change them which is a great idea. I rarely need to change from one frequency and I use it all the time and everywhere......

otherwise you can connect ur ipod to the back of the head unit... there is a thread which demonstrates what to do, but it's too much work :)

and you must buy the iPod cup holder, excellent product which is well suited to the Jazz'es front two cup holders!

it all looked a little messy, so i ripped out the HU and stuck in a 2 din DVD player, 7" screen in the headrest and full ipod intergration so i can also watch movies off my ipod.
BTW Vuey, Better change your ride in your sig.

Why was it a bitch to install? The hardest part would be removing the head unit right?

thats one of the problems.. and gettin the wiring done was a bitch for me.
cos no one had the green plug for the head unit, so what we used the aux cable from the cd drive. split it in two to make it fit the 6 pins and then solder it together.
once that was done, took us about an hour to drill a hole into the glovebox. that plastic is so tough broke like 4 drill bits. so dont underestimate it.

Flipping thru the lastest Autobarn cattledog today. Axis audio have a headunit with built in ipod control that comes standard with the ipod connector cable and has further inputs standard for other MP3 players and aux, USB, memory card reader. No proprietory PBus, CBus, Alpine link rubbish.

$299 I think. Ipod cable thing costs over $150 alone in the other brands.

not recommend to use any FM transmitter. the quality is no difference comparing with listening a radio. its far away like a CD quality. its very easy to replace a aftermarket headunit. all you need to do is to get an audio bracket - OEM honda parts. it looks like the picture below
