Hey guys...i have an eg civic with dc2r front end (engine, gearbox and brakes and everything in between).

I currently have some 17's on there at the moment...im guessing just the normal offset...whatever that is.

I possibly have the opportunity to put some jdm teg rims on there instead...which would give me a +60 offset rim...

My question is whether or not this offset would foul on anything inside the arches...more importantly, anything structual...

The reason why im wondering is that at the moment i have just recently replaced the rear tyres...and now they scrub a hell of a lot around corners...i am going to raise the rear up some more...but i was wondering if raising the offset would also help...and whether that offset is doable...

Thanks again guys (Pics will be up tomorrow...lol...i promise.)

What stud pattern are you running ? 4x100 ? 4x114.3 ? 5 x 114.3 ? (im not assuming since "DC2R" can come in 2 variety brakes and lots of combos)
JDM teg rims are not +60 offset - they are more like +35-40. A +60 offest would give a deep dish....like some old school drift car rims etc
they come in either 4x114.3 or 5x114.3...which one is it ?

Either way , ive seen "JDM TEG" rims on a EG and there was no issues at all.

Sorry, i wasnt very thorough with my explanantions and information.

I havea 5 x 114.3 stud pattern...I run the 98 dc2r brakes and stuff...

The rims i am wondering whether would fit are dc5r JDM rims...which are infact +60 offset. The reason for this is the jdm dc5r run big ol brembo's are require the extra space...

Thanks again guys.

JDM DC5R wheel offset = +60

The offset is doable, but itll sit in more and look weird.

I would reccommend you go 16s for less problems

yup thanks guys for clarifying , all the buzz words pointed me to assume a DC2R type Rim :)

BTW i have seen both AUDM and JDM DC5R rims on DCs and EGs and didnt seem too bad...

Well i would love to get a set of rota track r's...so if you know anyone that wants to swap for some 17's with brand new rubber let me know...lol

But in all honesty...unless i find someone to do a complete swap, changing to 16's will leave me out of pocket if i were to sell the 17's and get them.

A friend of mine likes the rims i have...and the dc5r jdm rims are 17's...so it would be a matter of keeping my tyres and swapping rims...They would look good...but my concern was whether the rim would foul on any of the suspension components or other parts of the body.

I don't mind they stick in...so long as it doesn't SCRUB!!! OMG it pisses me off!!

if scrubbing is bad - try either raising the car or run narrower tyres ( IE 195's)

well i went ahead and raised the suspension a touch today...Also hacked away a bit of the bodywork that was causing the scrubbage...

All good now...omg i love it!! lol

thanks for all the help guys!

hammered up the section of bodywork that joins the rear to the rear bar...It kind of just unnessesarily juts out way too much...Oh, and used the diamond saw to get rid of a bit of other plastic that was in the way
