Hi all, just wondering if there is anyway to use the DVD player to play DVD's in the M06 with sat nav? Is there any software or anything like that?
Another question I couldnt find a input for the sound system, is there one? I would like to use it for the iPod. I currently use a FM transmitter.
Thankyou

i'm wondering the same thing on noob section.. lolz... it must be some way to make it works with DVD.. somethin to do with the system i know.. coz my friend still do a research.. will update soon..
Our friends in the USA have sorted out the conversion of the sat nav to play DVD movies but I am pretty sure they only use the screen - rather than the DVD functions of the sat nav - ie you need a DVD player and connect it to the screen. I'll see if I can find a link for you.
edit --- the product looks something like this:

Hard to say 100% whether it works on AUDM sat nav until someone tries it. It should work (eg the TSX - SNHOND3 sound input works on our car). Perhaps before purchasing check if the video harness has the same pin set up as this pic below.
This version does not appear to be cheap at $329US but I imagine there are other products that do exactly the same thing

no, you can still use the DVD-ROM to play DVD and display on the LCD screen.
you have to purchase and install a module to make it work..
i am an active member of acuramdx.org and there are quite a number of members done the conversion.,..

jamchen, do you know of anybody in Australia who has done the conversion for the sat nav system to play DVDs?
Countless old threads have asked this but there has been no definitive response yet. I'm not really interested in the big conversion kit available for the TSX as it's designed to convert their NTSC DVDs to the system's PAL setup. Surely it must be simpler for us given our PAL native system.
Does anybody have a link or contact who might now something about getting this done?

I've contacted "TV&NAV2GO" in the States and they've quoted a cost of $250US. However, I'm yet to hear back from them about postage costs and whether it's cheaper just for parts and no installation and whether a separate DVD player is still necessary. It seems silly to have to put in another DVD player when there's already a DVD rom...
I'll keep everyone posted...

US$250 for the unit + US$85 for shipping
This provides two video inputs to the TFT display, which can then be used for a separate DVD player/Playstation/reversing camera, etc.
However, I can't understand why the Honda's DVD ROM cannot be used for the video playback and I'm wondering whether it's something to do with having NTSC in the US.
I think I'll try and source a place in Australia who does the conversion.

I believe the DVD-ROM for satnav is different system with the one for DVD movies. Anyway I also believe the module is made it work. Any idea how to purchase from US? Link or Websites will be appreciated.
Thanks.! :D

Well put it this way, you buy a DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Rom drive and put it in your computer, it won't just play those movie discs without the appropriate software/hardware decoders already in place.
If these cars lack decoding abilities then it simply won't play movies.
The only other reason must be for safety.
