dc5r pedals

Hi, I was looking to get some DC5R pedals for my DC5S.
I called a Honda dealership parts department and the guy there gave me these part numbers and prices:

Accelerator – 17816sk7000 - $11.30

Brake/clutch – 46545sa5000 - $7.90 each

Foot rest – 46992s6mr00 - $207

He was surprised at the foot rest price and went to check with his boss but came back to confirm that it really was $207 when the others are under $15.

My understanding is the accelerator is a whole replacement, where as the brake and clutch are just pop riveted on.

Do these prices surprise anyone else too? or has he got the wrong part number for the foot rest?

i was actually surpriced at how cheap the other parts was, not so much about foot rest. but if you change it, i rather change everything else but the foot rest, as i dont even use the foot rest

wots foot rest?? is that the thing auto cars hav where the clutch is?

manual cars have them too, next to the clutch...its exactly what the name implies...

a place to rest your foot :P

wow, im very surprised if they are the real prices. i thought it would be around $200 for around the whole set.

change footrest?? i dont see why you would need to change this. dont all cars have this. manual and auto!?!?

I guess i would change the foot rest as well to have a complete set. I agree with chuckz, the acc, brake, and clutch seemed pretty cheap, but foot rest ridiculously expensive.

hmmmm a lil surprised abt this particular footrest thingo, but u can get the whoooogen set too man. looks cooler too. :cool:

Your lucky, when i asked about pedals for my DC5S the Honda dealer ship couldn't help me!
As for part numbers I'll check to see if i still have the old packaging.
The prices seem a little odd though.

i just got quoted 12.60 for each at my local honda.

what dealer did you speak to?

easy to fit a dc2r?

edit: just spoke to them again... those are the rubber pedals.. they dont stock the metal ones.

Hey Maracer, where did you go through to get your pedals. JDMYard said that they couldn't help me.

Since the part numbers are different for 01-03 DC5R and 04-06 DC5R (JDM) i wonder if they're different and would fit. We have some guys on the OZHonda that work for honda right?

I got mine direct from Japan. The part numbers are from a JDM DC5R 04-06.
Not cheap around $360!

I think I might have to order it from japan direct like you did Maracer. What contact did you go through?

I called up Honda again to actually order, but now the guy says that it's not $11.30, but $192 for just the accelerator, $150+ for brake and clutch each, $207 for dead rest still. he said that it it's more expensive because each one is a whole piece (as in with arm assembly too, you can't buy just the covers for brake and clutch). I asked what the original parts numbers were for before and the said that it was just the rubbers. When I said that he originally told me the $11.30 was including the arm assembly for accelerator he back pedalled and said that it was just for the rubber replacement for accelerator. I thought that the accelerator didn't have a rubber replacement cos it was plastic. I really don't think he or his boss know fully what they're on about. He is telling me these are the prices for a AUDM 2005 Type R. I thought that the type R finished in 2004.

the accelerator doesn't have the rubber bits like the brake, clutch and foot reat. it just has small round screw heads in the holes.
im surprised JDMyard couldn't get em for you they helped me out with some parts for my recaros (from honda)

it's a real pain in the ass when you get stuffed around like this.
