Hey everyone,

I dont claim to be a genius when it comes to cars.

Infact I know very little!

I want to learn more and I was wondering would building a car help? I was planning on maybe an EG6 with an engine swap etc....

I would have a hand of course... although I want to do something practical... so that maybe I can feel Im learning something.

Any suggestions on the best place to start?

How ya goin m8?

Seems like you're on the right track for the tech exp. First step, buy the car you wish to build up.

Hope this helps,

Ok m8 after the car comes the engine/g-box.
Big $$$ makes big wkw. You can swap just about any engine you'd like in there. What's your desire? Torque, Horsepower, Both, Low end, Top end?
Quarter mile, Street sweeper, sprint?

As above, but also look at what your budget is and if it is gonna be worth the trouble.

ALso are you gonna try to do all yourself or get someone to do the work?
You might need to buy more tools also or hire some.

And budget how much time you are looking at spending on building it.

Seen alot of other projects go amiss from low funds or lack of time.

Almost anything is doable if you put enough money and effort into it.

If you want simple, i'd do something like a b16 that has been tried before and is easy to get, and there would be plenty of advise or even documented swaps.

Do a google search and read up on what others have done to give you an idea.

my first conversion took me 3mths to finish cos i could only work on it on weekends by myself for a few hrs and i didn't have a clue wat i was doing.

Still managed to get it all wired and running, mechanics are not all geniuses and if you have half a brain you can work out most of it with some help
