Well guys i've had a look at the queries before about bump stops, and it seems that some people are still skeptical or unsure about them, I purchased mine from underground imports a few weeks ago for $60 frotn and rear, when they showed up (to be hoenst) i thought it looks like wheels from a cupbord.

I have a civic sedan and i put 17 x 7 rimz on and it scrapped like shite on every turn, and expercially when i had more then 1 person i nthe car, going over big bumps etc.

But however "Benjamen" installed them for me last week and it has made my suspension much stiffer and much easier for control.

However every know and then it doesn scrape i must be hoenst, Ben even took the rubber lining from underneath the guard, and i can feel alot of bumps in the ground, feels like track susension >.< .

So i think it must be the off set or the wheels or the car or the springs.

These bump stops do help alot and in some cases i would think they even solve the problem completly, but there it isnt 100% that it will stop the scrubbing completely.

In saying this I would stil lreccommend the bump stops, scrubbing only happens on my car 3/10 turns as opposed to say 8/10 without the stops, beats rollin guards and saves more.

If u wanna know more about the experience jus let me know.

hey,
i have the same problem as you....but i have koni yellows and have readjusted the damper so it almost never scrapes anymore. i only made it a touch stiffer, how do i know if i need bump stops or not?

basically the bump stops replace ur old ones in ur shocks, so depending on how old ur shocks are etc. Another thing is because u adjusted the springs it means that when u turn etc its much stiffer and wont compress as much so it wont scrape as much.

So depending on ur shocks and how worn ur old bump stops are, they will definately help making ur sus. much stiffer.

Im using king springs super lows on stock shocks, my ones were pretty worn

how will bumps stop make the suspension stiffer?? please explain. My understanding of bumps stop is to stop the shocks from bottoming out not make the suspension any stiffer.

If you want stiffer suspension, change to stiffer springs and change damper levels.

Running 17x7 will always rub, unless you find the perfect offset. Only way around it, is to roll the guards.

welll first of all;

1 - before i had these installed, everytime i went over bumps or anything my car would bounce, however after i put these on i can feel the bumps alot more and my sus. doesnt bounce as much.

2 - and it is to stop ur shocks botoming out.

3 - Nothing was stated that bump stops would completely stop scrubbing, but in some cases i beleive they actually would. (depending on what springs, what offset and how low ur car is).

4 - if someone is continually scrubbing guards, then why not pay $60 to try and create less scrubbing rather then going straight to rolling ur guards?

but i mean if u've had these installed on ur car then u would have first hand experience and know wat i mean, too many people with "just" an understanding of what bump stops should do.

hop it helps

civcjai...do you currently have stock shocks or aftermarket shocks? coz i was thinking bout the bump stop idea...but i have tein ss coilovers so i dont think changing bump stops would help at all since the coilovers are near new...

king springs super lows on stock shocks. not too sure about bump stops on ur coile overs, might have to change spring rate and raise it? But im almost certain coilovers come with stock bump stops anyways??

it doesnt scrub that bad...i've lipped the guards up to give the wheels more travel before they scrub...and stiffened the shocks a little...but yea this bump stop thing has been on my mind for a little while.

You sure coilovers come with stock bump stops? seems a bit odd to me
