Looking to increase Top End Speed for my car..
Looking to get Turbo in the near future BUT looking to see what i can do at this stage.
Current Setup :
JDM d15B SOHC Vti
catback exhaust
air intake system
Would minor mods be worth it at this time, or should i just save up for the turbo at first instance?

4-1 xforce extractors will probably do you well.

yeah ill say extractors will help...maybe a ECU chip but not sure whether it will help or not though

and this is why idiots fall for the ebay "power chips"
they get told an ecu chip will improve power.
if u want to "chip" ur ecu buy hondata s300 or go chrome/uberdata ect. these are able to be tuned, these arent no instant power chips but chipping ur ecu is involved in the process.
Here's some inspiration for you SOHC people out there.

not sure how much top end speed can be gained from an NA 1.5l SOHC motor without going turbo....
in the long run if u know u want to go turbo then why waste money on NA parts now? u will need new extractors if u go turbo. IMO the price of a decent set of NA extractors could be better spent on a turbo application. unless u are prepared to buy both...?
As far as ECU's go there might be a hondata ECU that u can get that u can tune for NA now and then also use if you turbo'd later on. im not sure about this but it might be a good investment now if u can get one.
from your setup i cant see to many gains to be had in terms of BFYB from going down an NA path. if your serious about staying NA then start saving for a good base motor to go NA with like a b16, b18, k20 etc depending on your budget
either way turbo installation will always get you more BFYB but may sacrifice reliability. im not saying its impossible to get a good turbo setup done thats not reliable but its easy to skimp when going turbo and then have reliablility issues later on.
right now if i was u then i would do my reasearch and save my cash and go turbo because when the time comes to start shelling out for the turbo kit u will wish u had the extra cash.
there are some fast SOHC boosted hondas around but i havnt heard of any fast NA SOHC hondas

As if 139HP from a SOHC motor isn't fast!

139hp? close to 100kw? same as a b16a pretty much standard?
nah not fast.
lol.
it's good for what it is, but by all means, it's not fast.
Pretty fast for getting the groceries!

hmmm you right gstoria, ive rules our extractors and high flow cat atm due to the upgrade to turbo soon..
id say about 3 months, so no point wasting money on minor stuff at this time?

save it man!.... ur gona need to start from now planning out ur turbo setup, needs + budget. with the extra bit of performance u want out of ur setup now, u can invest it on ur needs for ur future turbo setup, sersly ders alot of bits n peices u will need.

Its over 100kw actually (103kw) and for a N/A, its nothing fantastic either. U can get alot from from a sohc ;)
b16a's make around 100kw @ wheels, but with minor bolt ons.. like cai and exhaust

if u want to increase your TOP speed (as asked) try fitting larger diameter rims. You will have a increased geared TOP SPEED :P
seriously tho to make your car FASTER point-to-point , get a light weight flywheel - replace parts with lighter alternatives (header etc) aim to remove as much static weight from the car (objects not needed like sub / amp , stuff in boot etc , take off body kits and keep it streamlined.

Save your pennies for the turbo setup, I thought about getting all the minor bits and pieces done to my car, but once I decided on the turbo set up, they had to all be changed again any way. So if you just hang in there until you get the turbo setup, saves doing some things twice

Gear ratios play a big part in top speed in a car where power isn't lacking too much. Think more about the gearing if you're gonna have plenty of torque from a turbo set up.
