I saw one at 15,990 and was wondering what you guys thought of it? It has I think 90000kms and is completely stock. Reason why I'm asking for this price is because I'm after one in auto transmission not manual. Opinions?

VTi?

or VTIR?

they both have VTEC and

though the VTI is a single cammer and the VTIR is a DOHC

Well for that price, im guessing its a VTi , theyre nice in terms of looks and arent too bad in power.

And since you want auto, im thinking you arent into serious power.

16k is ok, my friend got a 96 ek coupe vti for 14.5k in manual

Well I'm just after a civic that's cheap on fuel for now. When I'm on my green P's thats when I'll be able to drive manual. Anyhows, what about GLi versions?

Lots of difference between GLi and Vti ones?

Oh btw, Yeah I'm talking about VTI coupes not Vti-R as they don't come in auto.

Well I'm buying an auto thats for sure.
But should I pay extra 2-3K more then the GLi's for the VTI ones?

The GLi coupe is non-VTEC and makes 77kW and 139Nm.

The VTi coupe seems a lot rarer than the GLi and should make the same power as a VTi Sedan (I'm not 100% sure though) of 88kW and 145Nm from a SOHC VTEC engine.

Hope this helps.

you might as well save up until you get your green Ps, or better yet just learn manual, dont even bother with a GLi auto, its bad enough its a Gli, but it being an auto.. ouch!

I've just searched for specs of the Civic coupe VTi and it's not 88kW, as mentioned in my earlier post.

I quote from the NRMA used car report:
The Civic Coupe is powered by a 1.6 litre, 16 valve, SOHC engine that uses Honda's VTEC (variable valve technology) to produce 93 kW of power at a relatively high 6600 rpm. A five speed manual gearbox is standard for the Coupe and a four speed automatic transmission is also available as an option.

Im getting tired of these "how much is a...." questions..... there are plenty of sites that specialise in telling you how much cars are worth.

What the hell are "Green P plates"??? :? I mean really! In Melbourne we've got "yellow L plates" Ooooohh and RED P plates. P plates are p plates! :x

In sydney, we have a two stage P plate system. First is red Ps which lasts for 12 months, top speed of 90km/hr(i think?) and restricted to auto transmission if you took the test in an auto. Second is the green P's which lasts 24 months, 100km/hr and unrestricted in terms of transmission. After all that, you can finally move onto your opens/full. But by then you'll be old and only want to drive a volvo... :D

The Civic VTi-R, whether HB or coupe, is only offered in manual transmission.

Secondly, the VTi-R coupe was on the market for only 2 years between 99-00.
