When I think of the CRX, these are things that spring to mind.

This is reinforced by design sketches :

Pic 1 (http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/542/carscoop20crx13mz9.jpg)

See those three magical letters on the back?

And here's what she looks like in the flesh.

Pic 2 (http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5010/carscoop20crx1yl3.jpg)

Smooth lines! And look at those rear quarter panels. I dont think flares like that have been around since the 70's.

To further highlight the performance objective of the car, check out the stopping power, as highlighted here

Pic 3 (http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/1946/carscoop20crx3gv8.jpg)

I hope this actually comes to production!

Never understood the old design of the CRX but lets just hope they keep it responsive and as agile as the old one!

Wish I bought a JDM CRX all those years back :(
Undeniably a great and fun car!

I hope I can make my 1990 CRX last for ever, coz the way design is heading there won't be any new cars I'd ever consider buying. The only modern style sportscar I think strikes a good balance between old aeshetics and futuristic stylisation is the Nissan 350z. The new accords are a nice subtle blend of the two as well, but forgive me for not regarding them as sportscars.

this car is currently so far away from hondas current designs that something like this is a 2030 car

its an awesome concept but would be terrible in reality (todays standards)..

Im all for seeing the CRX make a comeback

we should focus on trying to get the type r civic out in aus first :)

i like the front, dont like the roof and the huge looking 'hump-back' if they can tone it down to look more 350x ish then i reckon it be a nice car nd not look to futuristic.

This is not a production spec vehicle. This 'yourfather' is called a "concept" car.

yourfather
01-12-2006, 04:35 PM
read the post

it says at the very end

"i hope this comes to production" which means, that I am aware that it is only concept .

That is about as polite as I can be.

very nice concept..

maybe have some rear 1/4 glass and the tail lights a block/line across the rear and i would be happy

Dylanamus

I would wager that everyone understands that this is only a "concept" based on the fact that the ability to post (ie write) is directly linked to the capacity to read. Therefore the only logical conclusion is that all people are aware of the existing hypothesis and are commenting with that in mind.

i reckon they should take some styling cues from the gen 1 or gen 2 crx... that would be cool.

Forget "styling cues". They can style it exactly like the original CRX, release it now and it'll still be better than that piece of shit.

And cuong, dont waste your piss on this car. I wouldnt even piss on this if it was on fire next to my house.

for its time , it was revolutionary .
nothing else on the market offered a nibble FWD with a very strong engine.

It almost single-handed started the "hot-hatch" market ;)

Hey Yourfather ,
where did you get the pics / article from ?
Im a CRX man from way back , as ive owned 3 CRX's in my time ( 1990 , a 1992 and a 1996) .
There was talk of this a few years back , the protype i saw was more of a DC-5 Integra looking car , and had alot of styling clues of the Gen 2 CRX.
There were pics on sites such as Vtec-temple etc .

It was going to have the B18c and weight was about 800ish kgs. A back to basics Lotus Elise kind of car . But Honda shelved the idea along with the New Prelude and New NSX . Due to the market moving towards cars like the Jazz , CRV , HR-V etc.

i would love to see honda bring back the CRX , the cars (all 3 generations) always had an "X-factor" about them

When I think CRX, I think of car that will fit you and maybe a watermelon

The Civic hatch is probably the closest we will get to a CRX realistically
