Taking Hondata Out

Wondering when u wanna take hondata out of your car, do you just unplug it? Is there anythink you need to do when you unplug.

not sure how hondata's work.
but that's usually the case, unless they have have to cut and shut wires.

Yes,put another ecu back in so u can drive the car.

hondata uses the original ecu as well as the hondata. so i should be able just to unplug it???

ums... they might have cut some wires, so check it, and if you see cut wires, re connect them.

What are you tryin to achieve?

Sounds like u have an S200 with the blue box wired to the ecu.

The blue box is just an external interface box for dataloggin,external switches,etc.
However,i do believe it holds rev limit info,so the car wont rev over 4000rpm(or something like that) if it is disconnected.It will run normally till the car is turned off but.

If u want to remove the hondata "chip" from inside the ecu & return the ecu to stock,then u have to cut jumpers & replace the original rom chip.

Your better off just sellin the ecu as a hondata unit(if thats what u intend) & replacing it with another stock ecu.

They are if u buy it as a pre-modified replacement ecu.

for instance,if u had an obd2 b16a,they dont have an option for this setup,so u buy an obd1 ecu with hondata preinstalled from them,a conversion harness & PnP.

if ur already runnin obd1,then u can just get your existing ecu upgraded & then PnP.

In brief,hondata is an upgrade for stock honda ecu's that makes it programmable & allows extra options like datalog,launch,boost,etc,etc
