Just wandering if anyone else is expieriening these problems becuase i've seen a few 'dumped' DC2's going around and i cant understand how they have any exhaust left or front bar for that matter !!!
I have a set of 1.5" Lovell springs in my car which are for an EK , but due to the weight difference the front of my car sits right on the tyre and is pretty damm low.. ( the back has about 1-2 finger gap )
Now everytime i go over a speed hump or car park it scrapes the shit out of my fat OEM honda resonator.. ( Full ITR Exhaust ).. And also my front bar is copping a few scrapes underneath...
Anyone else that has lowered there DC2/4 do you guys have the same problem ??

Yeh, I have a simular problem in my car. My guards pretty much sit level with the tyres. Now my car is low, but not too low. I find I can pretty much get anywhere, but I do have the occasional problems with my exhaust on speed bumps. My car is not a daily.

Thats exactly how my car sits at the front and slightly higher at the back...
Although take into consideration im riding on 15's so my car sits slightly lower to the ground than urs

the biggest problem i have is the resonator scraping, there is 2 finger gap between my front tyre and guard

learn how to use angles to get up driveways. You may have to go up sideways.
I find it helps to drop the left or right wheel off the side of a speedhump and into the gutter so that only one wheel goes over the speed hump. Stop the car from being lifted up and just dumped on the ressi.
You are going to scrape, and sometimes you are going to scrape the exhaust, just keep driving and you will be able to learn how to gauge what you can and can't get away with.
Worse comes to worse you can get a bash plate made up to protect your exhaust.
Front lips might as well be sacrificial offerings, it wont last too long if you dont know what you are doing. Nothing a paintshop cant repair when u get the dosh to do it.
*no finger gap front or rear with 16" rims on 40 profile tyres. 13cm all round (side skirts and front lip)

bungsai - Thanks for the input dude, but i already know how to go "angles" over things e.t.c.. I've had many lowered cars in my time... but im over having to drive like a " fully hecktit habib" over speed humps because my car is dumped on its ass LOL
It seems everyone has the problem after lowering so i might have to reconsider raising my car abit...

lol, oh didnt realize you were semi experienced when it came to lowered cars...haha
seems weird that you have drive like habib just to get over the speed humps...
does your exhaust hang low?
Raise it, or get bigger wheels!
Quite simply, its just TOO low.

haha i have problems with my header (4-1's) and also resonator. other than that its alright. Good think we have nice roads here in canberra....although i have to avoid some plces being too steep or stupid speed bumps ( u know those huge metal grid ones!!! :()
haha but yeh its not too bad...does get irritating but i love the way it looks.

andrew21: are you riding on oem 15' rims? are you gonna get new rims?
if your car is daily driven, i say raise it just a lil bit cos itll be such a bitch so go over speed humps and have scraping issues.
slammed cars are nice, but think of the practicality of it first.

yer scrapage is a problem, since i got my custom boot install my rears dropped 1.5-2 inch and every bump my exhaust scraps (my cars not even lowered) just gotta take it on angles lol

ON XTC - Nah there aftermarket 15's man... Looking to stay with these rims for a while.. But like you said its Looks vs Practicality.. so i think im going to be looking at raising the front abit.. Problem is no one really sells the front pair only !!

yeh true true
btw did you change your shocks on ur Dc4 with the springs? u can get type R shocks, more durable than DC4 ones.

Nah stock shocks man...
hey andrew21, im using the same set of springs u r using on my dc2r. only problem i have is the occasional scrapage of the resonator wen im careless and in a rush. other than that i always make it ova humps without a prob. jus b patient and let ur springs and shocks settle b4 goin over the hump, i found this to help alot. hope this works for u . =)
well my dc2 is lowered on shocks & springs as well, 1 finger gap front and 1.5-2 on the rear (coz ive stripped my interior) and my (FGK RM01A) exhaust was only scraping here and there (only on certain speed bumps).
Untill the other day where i was driving home from work and realised my exhaust had a different note, sounded funny so i sped up a lil and then heard a loud "PING" and then my car sounded like a straight pipe  i pulled over and checked underneath my car. Only to find that 2 bolts had come loose off the end piece (no my exhaust didnt fall off, lucky though).
I drove to a close by mates house and raised my car and bolted it back together, either it was bolted dodgy by the exhaust place or just the vibrations loosend the bolts.
Well guess im lucky thought that there wasnt a car behind me and my end piece (muffler) didnt fall off, long story i know :p just wanted to share
