kd-avx1 problem

sup guys... well today was drivin

smoke from dash appeared had a quick look and it appears i started burning wires goin to my 8" screen which wasn't conected thankfully...

thing is was listenin to normal radio when it happened and the headunit just turned off normally like the remote wire was disconected etc...

now when car is running there is no poewr to the headunit and it will only eject discs. which means its getting power but it wont play...

i tried resetting the unit which had no effect..

i aint checked fuses yet will do in morning but any1 else experienced this..

i am hoping it is just the a/c power wire or somethin cause the wire that started to burn was connected to cig lighter....

i assume the eject button work from the permanent 12v power source as it ejects when the car is off etc....

was just blown fuse for the cig lighter and radio section...

speaking of which is tehre a diy for wiring things through the fuse area??

need to kno how to do it properly i dun wanna go through this again lol cheers

if everything is wired up correctly, then the fuses wouldn't blow.

I assumed you've wired everything correctly since it was working before-hand
so maybe the cigarette ligther short-circuited with the radio wires causing both fuses to blow. In that case, best try insulate all wires

i had the 8" lcd screen hard wired to the cig lighter spot.. my assumtion is that it went from a thick er gauge wiring to a thin one without fuse or anythin betwweeen them and it just melted it... radio is all fine

but yea i need a diy to wire it thorugh fuse box proerly :):) any1 can help
