Hi all,
Yesterday painted my rocker cover, anyway did a stupid mistake of taking it off while it was still pretty hot so the studs expanded furter then weakened when they cooled down so what happen next they snapped when i went to put it back on with like only minimal amout or torque on the wrench!
Anyway has anyone got a part number of the studs for the rocker cover and had anyone got them from places other than honda like auto one/autobarn and how much they have paid.
Really appriciate ur help ppl!
cheers

theres no way that i had a arm strength problem! the torque wrench was set at 9 ft sq in torq an i tested that the wrench was ok and it was, plus it was no where near going tight to that setting, plus i new to be careful from other people that have snapped theirs. it got me stumped why they snapped and only reason i could think of is the heating and cooling made them weak, they were like chalk sticks. anyway one long train ride to honda tomorrow :(....

some times with a torque wrench its posible to snap studs and bolts.
dont just take it for granted that just because your using a torque wrench everything will be ok.
cheep torque wrenches sometimes wont click when they are ment to, you have to loosesn the bolt, turn the wrench a few times and try to retention the bolt again.
you get a feal for it and you can tell when its gone to far and someting is about to go wrong..
hard to explain but it happens

mine sliced off like butter, didnt see that the dome nut wasnt actually tightening onto the cover, tightens onto the post underneath the plastic cover.
that part # was the inner studs btw

anyway here are the pics of you people that are interested in how the cover turned out. I myself am pleased and it does look a bit darker not pinkish in real life cos the lights been reflected off it as it was still relatively fresh. And yes my car does need a clean, even the karcher broke down on me!

ahhhaha i did the same..
but it was a pain to get new ones.. werent all they expensive, but honda ordered me the wrong part 3 times - even with the chasis number written down as well as visually inspecting the part.
I gave up and went to hanny's as hodna australia kept on getting me the wrong parts and wreckers wont sell it to me.. hehehe
