What do ppl think about the result yesterday?

It looks to me as though Rick tried to make a moke on Lowndes and that he was blocked. It was a racing incident, probably fair for a black flag. In any other race, no one would have cared.

Seems to be causing some controversy on other forums

haha cool!

Go kelly! It actually looks like lowndes started braking wayyyy toooo early tho.
Kelly was on the way round and lowndes squeezed him out too.

I'd suggest that if he braked wayyyy toooooooo early he still would've had a chance of making the turn.

I can see a new murphy v ambrose style rivalry growing out of this indicent

i didn't see the race but from that youtube clip it looks like he had plenty of time to make the turn until he got hit from behind.

Although i haven't watch many races at that track so it might have actually been normal to brake where he did so.

It looked as though when he got hit, all he could do was try and wrestle the thing straight, which meant that he couldn't use maximum braking pressure to stop the car. I think the drive thru penelty recognises that Kelly was at fault - it was just unfortunate that Lowndes car was collected by the following pack trying to get past, otherwise he would be champion, unfair, but that's racing.

It was pretty bad sports man ship by the two Holden drivers. Lowndes was clearly going to win the championship.

You are joking right, both Garth and Rick where doing everything they could for Rick to win the championship and if you where in there shoes you would have done the same thing they are both team player's and support there sponsors 100%.If you watched all the rounds this year that is why Holden won over the Ford teams because they support each other.

No doubt that's why Kelly won, from indycar onwards, all Skaife, Tander and Todd Kelly did was drive as wingmen for Rick, but it is a drivers championship, the team's championship is another title, which, in my mind would've made Lowndes winning the title all the more sweeter, because he overcame all the tactics and was the faster man on the day and for the year.

I mean, no-one wants to see all motorsport turn into f1 a few years ago when drivers were clearly waving other drivers through and purposefully stopping great racing battles. The drivers championship should be won by the best driver of the year, not the one with the most buddies out on the track.
