I was shopping around and came across a cheap idea to improve the look of the interior of my civic. It can look cheap n dodgy to some ppl but i personally like it as it adds colour.

Start with a kitchen non slip mat which i bought from best & less for $1. I only found a yellow one when i took the pictures.

Decide what parts of the car you want to cover and cut out a shape similar(bit larger so that you can trim it down to size for a perfect fit). Trim it down lil bit at a time and check the fitment after each trim down. Use double sided tape to hold it in place. that's all !

Here's a couple of before and after shots.

Imagine what u could do with $2

looks good. I would have used a solid rubbery material though. Dirt is gonna get into the holes of that material.

true true, dirt n crap gets in a lot only for the sides but which is why i didnt bother sticking it down. Once in a while i just lift it n wipe underneath hehe

I'd probably agree with Mr Willz. thin rubbery material would be good to stop stuff sliding around.

Good work tho man. Looks tops.

If you're after solid rubbery material and wanting to go 'upmarket' try some stuff called Dycem.

^^^lol.
I did this a while back with some heavy duty non slip boating carpet. Looks very nice and classy compared to the cheap spongy matting, ill have to get photos.

Really good idea OP, its such a cheap easy diy that makes a nice difference.

quality diy, i did excactly the same but i cost me $8! clark rubber founds some matts that looked similar and cut em out 2 fit just like yours, had some industrial red double sidded sticky tape and pinned em down.
cheers

DUDE I did the exact same thing!!! Best and Less as well! Except I used black. Man makes the useless 1 DIN slot an awesome wallet and phone holder. Keeps my handbrake area clear!

Funny thing is when I did my mum's Jazz (first gen, pre-facelift), I did the areas underneath the glove box/steering column. Then, when the facelift one came out Honda included free rubber inserts in the same place! Oh well good enough!

Good work!
