no oil change on first service for his car

only cars with oil change at first service are euro and crv (at least until new crv comes out next year)

oh the s2k's dc5's have an oil change at the first service but not many dealers are selling em anymore so doesnt really apply

rep +1 :)

For Hondas in late 2006, they come with an oil that lasts 10,000km. It's a different colour and is supposed to have higher levels of molybdenum disulfide.

Euros from 2003-early2006 still needed their 1000km oil change.

Doesn't matter anyway, if it was me, I would still ask for an oil change at 1000km.

i'm not sure of the specifics but as you probably know the reasoning behind the no oil change at the 1000km service for many of the current range is an additive from the factory which is meant to assists with the running in process of the engine. so much so that honda recommend AGAINST changing oil in the vehicles that aren't due for a change at 1000km

Someone called up Honda Australia and got this answer:
"All new Honda Euro built after Feb 06 are built in such a way that they dont' need oil change on 1st service".
http://ozhonda.com/forum/showpost.php?p=794325&postcount=9

So I thought they had that running in oil as well.

Dude called them a 2nd time and got:
"with introduction of new civic this year, all honda vehicle produced after feb 06 has a special running in oil that should not be changed until 10,000km"

Check your service manual that's together with your car manual in that leather case. Does it say to change oil in the first 1000km service?
