OK so ive been searching over the last few days for cheap mods i can do to my K24A.
Im a little confused with the K series, ie, whats swappable between the two.
Depending on the price of things, and the availability of parts, I want a little more out of my Euro but without going stupid.
So what i ask is this; what cams (plus valve springs, seats etc) will fit from which K20 motor onto my 03 K24A??
and is it worthwhile upgrading the TB to a slightly larger one also while im at it?
do i change the whole head, or is this unnecessary?
from what ive been reading the cams CAN be swapped, but i have no idea what K20 motor they are supposed to come from to fit. A B C D? lol there is a lot about hondas i need to learn. NA is a whole new area for me.
most of the information that is on here is from the US, i know the motors are basically the same, but with some minor differences.
OR, should i just go aftermarket cams and cam gears?
at a later date ill be changing intake, intake manifold and installing headers and exhaust etc. the usual bolt on stuff when funds (and wife :P) allow.
thansk guys!

Going to cams first before bolt ons is a little silly.....
Don't change your cam gears (you'll only be able to change the exhaust one anyway).
Bore your TB. There isn't another TB that will work with your ECU. Even the 06 TSX TB has idling issues when used with a car with an 03-05 ECU.
When you get to cams, skunk2 makes some for the TSX.

i want to hide the mods for insurance purposes before doing the usual bolt ons. plus i want to see how much improvement over stock you can get without doing the usual cop-bait mods :) weird i know, but the stock exhaust and intakes are pretty good for a factory item IMO!
it sucks about the TB, damn honda and their lack of swapability hehe :P
thanks for the skunk link, i wonder do HKS and Tomei do cams for a K series?
EDIT: Looks like its K20A3 cams that can be swapped with K24A

I made a mistake with the skunk2 link. You need k20a2 cams. The A3 does not have vtec on the exhaust cam, so they have only 2 lobes.
Seriously, you won't get much gains going to stage 1 cams using stock breathing. If you look at dynos, torque drops off after 5000rpm because the engine can't get enough air into the large cylinders.

Intake/Exhaust/ Headers for a start...
Doing internal engine modifications will not get you far without all these modifications to complement it.....
I am talking with Skunk2 about the camshafts and I hope to get a respond from them soonish...

what about the TB's from skunk2 they have a 62 and 68 mm TB's (ours is 60mm??)
its a good idea imho going for all internals first, but i think (like the others say here) you wont realise their full potential, without intake and exhaust..
almost everywhere i read says to go for the intake and exhaust first (mags, other forums etc) then go for internals....

I doubt that the Skunk2 TBs are electronically controlled..
You could use a skunk2 tb and k-pro.
FYI Crower also make camshafts.

lightweight is actually 1 word :P
anyway, its all so expensive. damn hondas lol hence why i want to put in K20A2 cams. probably cheaper sourced directly from japan. something ill look into
and yeah a lighter flywheel and underdrive pulleys will be done :) i drive it everyday for work, so i dont want to go too light as its going to take a few more RPM to get it off the line

Lightened flywheel and pulleys are good.JTUNE(hondata) is shortly releasing HIE and reflash.Theyr'e claiming(with stage 4)150kw ATW which is impressive. The only catch approx.$4000+.Stock is 110-114 ATW i think.

The Euro is not a cheap car to modify.

i dont think its related only to the euro. its most NA cars. they cost a hell of a lot more than turbo cars to get power from.
but thats what happens i guess lol

It's cheaper to get a Civic or Integra to go fast. The Euro is a heavy car. So a 20kW gain on a Civic is a big difference, but might not feel spectacular on the Euro.

ZEi20T, hondas and any NA cars are very costly to modify, compared to when u had ur nissan. its a new experience isnt it?
With the amount of money I spent on my euro so far (not disclosing any details about it LOL :D ) I would get much better bang for buck if I had an S15 or something and spent the same amt of money modding it
But i love the euro. It may be for a change later on though.....perhaps in 2-3 years time

maybe i should wait, see if a turbo diesel model comes out and get that and mod it. anything forced induction will respond better. just turn up the boost a little, dont worry about pinging in a diesel :P
