Just want to replace a couple of hoses of the power steering,
the two that join to the metal lines in front of the radiator..

Just wondering if i am able to use fuel hose? or even vacuum hose?

have you kept your power steering???

If so i'd say no becuase they'll need to be connected properly and be able to withstand descent pressure.

If you've removed your PS then you shoould be fine with fuel hose and hose clamps.

** waits for one of the big people to tell me otherwise and slap me **

I still have the power steering..
the lines i plan replace are pointed in green and the red is where the leak is..

fuel hose will be fine for the cooler lines, but isnt there a cheaper alternative?

i used fuel hose to replace a shifter bushing a couple o weeks ago,lol

i should add a good brand of fuel hose, with at least a 150psi rating

rubber fuel hose is cheap..
prob $10 a meter max

to me it just looks like a typical rubber hose..
might just replace it with fuel hose and see how i go

man you can use any fabric braided hose from an auto/hose shop. Should be about $5.00 per meter.

trust me i sell hydraulic hoses ;)

yeah, listen to this guy^,memory not my best asset,i was buyin some silicone hose at the same time, maybe i was thinkin of that....

when i lengthened my cooler hoses,i saw somethin bout relief valves & pressures over 100psi so i just went with that, didnt think whether it would reach the cooler lines or not, maybe worth checking,or come to think of it ,that would blow the top of ur resevoir wouldnt it?

never mind:zip:

thought i might reply at last.

ended up using genuine honda replacement parts (lucky some were in the country)
only cost $30

the guy @ repco had a valid point as in that fuel hose isnt meant for heat, so the hot PS fluid would perish it..

all hose materials have different a 'chemical resistance' to fluids, ie u can use the same nitrile(rubber) hose to carry dot 4 as to carry engine oil. use a garden hose for clutch fluid and see how long it lasts lol ;)

good choice on the oem stuff mate

thanks for the info efSi

i needed it in 90 degree bends too.. so it would be hard to find and probably cost the same as OEM.. so OEM was the better option
