I was told at the car show that it isn't coming to AUS? Anyone know why not? Is there going to be an alternative? Possible to import? 2L K20 engine with 150kw :D very tempting...

Too costly to import mate.
We source our Civics from Thailand.

the civic Si coupe is definitely not coming...its made for the american market and too costly to convert to right hand drive to bring them in to aust...a more likely model equavilant to the USDM civic Si coupe to be brought in to aust is the coupe euro type R hatch (UKDM) or the civic type R coupe (JDM). both models are 2l k20a powerd with 200 hp and 220 hp repectively....

hmm civic SI ain't bad...but it would be better if we can get the Type R :)
yer u probably won't see any civic SI in Aus on the roads (highly unlikely). Maybe we can see it in the near future at some car shows?

that looks nice..but if it was between the type R and that...the type R is the better alternative in terms of feasibility

well its pretty close that the civic Type R will be bought in, as Honda needs to bring back the zap it once had in the market...hot hatches are the way to go at the moment...and its about time Honda decided to pull there finger out and bring in the little pocket rocket!!!

hmm if honda bought the the civic type r hatch then it will be in direct competition with the mazda 3 mps.... both are priced around the 40k mark as well...
but if the sedan version was bought in there will be indirect competition (toyota aurion and the commodore). but yer i hope they bring in the sedan version cos it looks better imo.

I wish they don't release it over here! Makes me feel that my purchase in April this year was a waste.. I should have waited etc... :(
Wouldn't mind spending a bit more to get that type R...
STOP TALKING ABOUT IT DAMMIT!

coz there is no market for it. integra sales have absolutely died, so we wont see the integra in showrooms much longer (i believe they aren't bringing anymore in, they're just selling current stock).
hell even the civic sports aren't selling well enough to warrant another 2L civic sedan.
if you want a k20 civic we have them in the 'sport'
anyway... my friend who works on Honda dealer sed next year we will have Integra Mugen Type R here in Oz (limited ed only of course)... anyone interested?
you friend is full of shit =)
while people at honda won't admit it (at least last time i spoke to people at the head office) they will be bringing over the civic hatches

no your friend is lying.
lol.
there was some interest, that's why the 2005 motorshop they had the mugen teg there, and had a survey, where they vistors fill out.
there was word where honda au was honda bring in mugen, and at this point, i'm quite sure it's not gonna happen.
ages ago, i'm talking 90's ken carrol, honda dealer used to be a the importer for mugen.
