When people are reffering to de-looming engine bays and are always talking about loom and extending the loom etc.... what actually is a loom?

a group of wires that run from one part of the car to the other.

Loom is the plastic cover over the group of wires. When they talk about de-looming they mean taking out all the wires or taking off all the loom and replacing it. Extending it is when a piece is too short the put a new piece on that is longer.
