hi guys.... just bought the J's racing air intake and WHOOOAAA the sounds is amazing, not to mention how much air it sucks in. I wanted to know if anyone else has one on their ITR and what do they think bout it??? Theres one thing though.... the temp gauge has gone up a notch... is that coz its not in an air box and is drawing in hotter air? or because the cooler line that supplys the throttle/plenum was re-directed straight to the throttle, instead of the T-Piece that orignially is placed there in a roundabout fashion??? Does the T-piece have a purpose???

Nah the T-piece doesn't have anything to do with it. its just a fancy way of keeping everything neat.
The higher temps will probably be from the open air pod.
Does your Teg have ABS?? If so it means your filter is gonna sit closer to the top coolant hose where it'll pick up alot of heat soak.
My one (b16a in Del Sol CRX) has the ABS in a different position so the filter sits behind the headlight (alot less heat soak).
Airbox is your friend :D
Good luck

Just to help support the intake arm.
I used it on mine to stop it flapping around under heavy accelleration. Don't do it up too tight tho, don't wanna crack it.
Try to find a place to mount it on the body work and then attach the other end to the clamp that holds the filter on the intake arm.
Its probably not needed but it will stop it from movin around a bit.

Yeah i think its an oil based filter. you shouldn't have any troubles changing it for a HKS style foam filter, of K&N filter of some sort.
I think its a 3in inlet.
