at the base of the wipers there are a single nut (or whatever it's called) holding the metal, use a 10mm (i think, forgot) to take it off...and u should be fine...

if u're not clear, i'll take photos....good luck!

fold your wiper arms up undo the nut "there is only one" and pull them of.
if ur gonna respray make sure you sand the wipers down and even degrease the crap out of them after that, take the rubber blades of first.

nope...when u put them back, just screw them in place using the 'nut'

make sure it's tight enough but not overly tight

Make a mark on the windscreen with masking tape so you are sure that its aligned properly when you put it back on. There are small notches under the bolt that let you re-attach it at various angles. If you don't align it properly, then the arm may hit the A-Pillar or possibly touch the other arm.

And yeh, just undo the bolt and tighten it up when done. Dont grease or loctite the bolt or anything, you dont want it to slip and damage the notches.

To limit the torque and avoid thread damage when tightening the bolt with the socket wrench, you can use two fingers instead of tightening the bolt with ur whole hand.

Needs to be done up to 18ftlbs from memory. That's probably doing it up firm with one hand (using a socket wrench, of course), but no dk grip. You can also draw (or scratch) a mark onto the wiper arm and bolt to get the alignment right when you put it back together.

I've tried to do this recently and it's quite hard to get all the old paint off. If you have access to a sand blaster it would make life a lot easier. I ended up using a rotary tool with a sanding bit but even this took a lot of work and I had to go over it with several grades of sand paper to get all the big scratch marks out.
