im looking for headers for an integra LS. the only ones i have found are from Xforce, anyone had any experience with their headers?

also i heard from someone that i can use headers from a b18c vtec on my b18a and it will give good power gains, anyone care to comment on this?

thanks

you can use b18c extracotrs

do they give better power gains than b18a extractors?

are they still a straight bolt up job?

where did you find the x-force header? got a website or such? yes you could use the header from a b18c but you may find that because it is not made for your CAR it might hit the front crossmember or not reach the exhaust pipe or something. I seriously doubt the B18c header is going to give you a noticeable gain over the b18a one.

I got my extractors for my B16A from Mayhem in Brisbane.

I am pretty sure they have Integra extractors as well on display in their showroom.

I'll give them a ring if you want ?

I just rang them, they said they are doing a special this month on Honda extractors for $700.

Mine cost me $1100 about 3 months ago, so yeah it's not a bad price, they are full stainless steel 4 into 1 extractors, they look awesome in the engine bay!

They arn't original Mugen extractors, but they are really good quality still.

I will dig up a picture of mine if I can find it.

nice man that would be great!

whats the diff between 4-2-1 and 4-1 extractors? do they increase in a diff power band?

4-2-1 are good for economy and 4-1 are good for top end power.

That's what I think anyway, I will have a read of google.

Yeah I was right:

"The 4-2-1 system gives good all-round power, with no special power peaks or dips, while a 4-1 system give the best power at higher revs - At the expense of low end power. "

If you PM me your email address I will email you the pics I have.

you dont' lose any power on low end with 4-1

so 4-1 just gives u better top end power where as 4-2-1 gives better power all the way through?

421 better mid range
41 better high end

4-1 will give you better peak power, which is good for Honda engines because they rev hard.

4-2-1 will give you more power over standard extractors but won't make as much outright power as the 4-1.

Basically, if you want outright power, 4-1.

but the question is: are you going to rev to the redline at every red light?

adam

Of course not, but you don't lose ALL the power down low, just the exhaust is tuned for peak power up top.

It depends on what engine you have, engines like b16a can actually rev hard and breath well in high RPM.

If you have a carby fed civic which is just used to go to the shops and home again, why would you bother?

if you want it to look good on a dyno then the 4-1 will be better but the 4-2-1- will feel better through the mid-range your choice really personally i would go the 4-2-1 but anyway... by the way i realised too that the b18c header is designed for a block that is 7mm taller than the b18a isnt it? meaning it will hang slightly lower on your car also the O2 bungs will be in different positions however an exhaust shop should be able to relocate them to where they should be quite easily
