Hey guy's. I was wondering how much power I can extract from my 2001 type r integra before I would have to start getting serious with the gearbox. what sort of flywheel hp would I have to consider some modifications or a new gear box. cheers.

ive seen stock boxes take ALOT of punishement and HP...its issues with running low /' wrong fluid and bad drivers that end a gearboxes life. Not HP ATFW IMO

Correct,
You can run over 270+ fwkw thru these stock gearboxes, and they'll be sweet as!
All about maintenance, and driving style.

Big problems with the gearboxes is that when they aren't maintained properly, any misshift at almost 9000rpm can do wonders. When you start to feel her getting notchy etc, try Syncro mesh and new Gearbox Oil.

I never knew misshifting can damage a transmission? Regardless, there are many things you can do to your ITR to make it fast. One thing is that you have to decide what kind of racing you want to participate in.

One of the best bang for bucks is the final drive. Upgrade to a 4.928 from your 4.400 or 4.785.

Letting the clutch out before the gear has engaged. Therefore, forcing your linkages through the syncros at 11,000rpm (above post for example).

Ahh, I thought just meaning revving to 11000rpm would harm the transmission. I understand what they are saying now. :)
