Hi All,
My mate just bought a 06 VTi Civic sedan and its supposed to have the vtec engine.
Anyways he says that he took it out for a test and revved it to see when vtec kicks in, well to his disappointment vtec never kicked in according to him. He has driven previous hondas before with vtech and when it reaches around 5500rpm you can definately feel the kick.
If its all smooth and linea til redline does this mean its normal for this model?
Was he expecting too much from a base model engine?
Should he have gotten a model that has an R at the end of it? eg. VTiR ?
Please let us know, he is very concerned that after babying it for 1000km he then tries to test vtec out and gets nothing?
