I have just bought a vtec crx the conversion was done about a month ago by the previous owner but has just bought another car and has no need for the crx.

I want to find out what year engine MODEL i have it is a b16a vtec and it has come out of a civic. The reason is so when i do mods to this car i can make sure that i am doing them correctly from the start

post up pics of your engine bay..
if you don't have a camera, or you don't want to show your engine bay..

then post up the first 5 characters of your engine number, and we'll be able to tell you from there..

if the DOHC is bigger than the VTEC, then you have a gen1 b16a, which would have come out of the EF civic SiR or CRX SiR

if the VTEC is bigger than the DOHC, then you'll have a gen2 b16a, which could be from an EG civic SiR, gen3 CRX, EK4 or EM1

the size of the letters will only be correct if the rocker cover hasnt been changed...

and the gen1 b16a also came out of the DA6 integra XSi

If it's from a Civic and is cable driven then it will be from an EF9 Civic SiR. 1989-1990.

he told me that the engine was from a civic

and it must be a gen 1 because the dohc is bigger than the vtec

is this engine 160hp rated?
