well ive serached through these forums and concluded that i need to replace the brushes on my starter motor...
just a few questions
1) where can i get them from?!?!
2) and where would the starter motor located on an ed civic?
3) or how much would a replacement starter motor cost?

go to ur local auto electric place..
should b near the gearbox

an exchanged reco one should on be around $120 or so.

It would cost more to rebuild the starter than it is to buy a reman'd one. That's why shops just replace them these days. Plus it's easier! Any parts store would have them and a rebuild kit if you want to go that way. Cost for a reman'd is about $120-$250AUD.

take it off youself, exchange it at auto elec or go to a wrecker and get a 2nd hand one.
Not hard to dom you might need to take off the air box to get to it. There's only 2 bolts holding the starter motor to the gearbox.

manual and auto starters are diffrent?
I would either buy a woking/recod one or just go straight to the auto electrician so that way they can test it and change whatever is broken.
