DC2 Aerial mast

Just got our DC2R from the east a few days ago, the pwr antenna hammers when going up or down.

The aerial mast has seen better days, I remember replacing one of those for a fren's Prelude over 10 yrs ago. Are they still aval from Honda dealer? Or do people tend to replace the whole power antenna unit with an afermarket one?

most pplz with a DC2/4 normally tend to replace their antenna with the S2000 style antenna as it provides a more "cleaner" look

You can get a new antenna from the dealer. I think they also have a "rebuild" kit, on that does just the mast and the line to push it up and down. You can also get the kit off Ebay for $10-$25USD plus shipping, same with the S2K antennas.

unless ur not a fan of the 'bee sting' s2k style atenna. try some wreckers they will have the dc2 flag poles..

id sell u mine but my motor is stuffed aswel haha

But you might want to try a heavy dose of wd-40, retract antenna, extend, wipe off dirt using an upwards motion, repeat.

This can often clear up buildup of sediment and give you a little more life out of that antenna, but unfortunately not always.

Once the dirt is in the gears you pretty much have to tear it out, crack her open, and clean it. Then you can regrease it and put her pack in. Should last another 5 years!

just get a decent h/u which keeps the aerial down at all times!!!
