Calling on all auto-electrical minded ppl here. There is something wrong with my central locking.
You know that sound when unlock ur car... it makes that "chk" sound? Well when my car is locked, the driver side door keeps making that "chk" sound as if its trying to unlock on its own. It never unlocks on its own though as if its too weak to unlock on its own... but it sounds like its trying. And it keeps doing this the whole time the driver side door is locked.

I havnt driven my car the whole long weekend and today i couldnt start the car. The battery was dead. (jump started it and its all good now). Anybody know how i can fix this problem? Is it something i can fix myself?

I've got the lock where you pull up to unlock and push down to lock. And another thing thats wierd is I can lock all 4 doors by pushing down the drivers lock... but when i pull it back up no other doors unlock.

wat do u mean by cleaning the switch? what does the switch look like?

there were 4 wires going into this little box and 1 was disconnected... i disconnected another wire which seems to make it manual lock/unlock.

It sounds as though you found the correct thing...it should have a corrugated rubber boot...the end of which is connected to a metal rod which activates the door lock mechanism that opens when you pull the door handle. My door lock mechanism was stuck...resulting in the central locking locking but not unlocking. Even though this is not exactly your problem I reckon try spraying the door lock mechanism (you'll have to get to the inside of the door) a spray with WD40 or RP7 or similar. If the door lock mechanism is stuck it will prevent the switch from fully operating so it may keep on trying till it burns out or your battery dies...which it did.

check your cables to central locking in doors, i had a simialr problem, wouldnt unlock and battery was going flat. it was caused by a wiring short.

open up ur door.. should have the black central locking unit behind the trim..
check all cables goin in and out of it..
also.. there should be a piece of metal.. bout 2-3mm in diameter that sorta hooks/connects to another piece of long metal is that is originally connected to your door handle... make sure that is hooked on properly.

to see what exactly is happening.. hav the door trim off so u can see the inside of the door. lock the doors.. open it. shut it.. wateva.. then u might c where or what your problem is.

hope this helps a lil..

Oo and. if u think theres something wrong with the central locking unit.. u can purchase another one from jaycar or something.. prob $12 or so for the one unit. i had a 2 door car. so might b different.
