you probably got a full inspection blue slip, which is a car that has not been registered for a period of 3 months plus, which means they go over the whole car, top to bottom checking EVERYTHING.

vti_bois blueslip was only that much becuase all they had to do is verify the engine conversion.

pink slip is for rego as well, when you get it renewed.
and it's ialso for a vechile inspection.

but a blueslip for a car that has been out of reg for 3 months or more, is a more in-depth insepction.

really noob question, what is a pink and blue slip?

Bayani

If your car is unregistered, it must be inspected. When you get it done, they will give you a Blue Slip.

If your car hasn't been registered for 3 months or longer, they will do a more indepth inspection, ultimatly giving you the same coloured slip.

The pink slip is a simple check of your car when your going to renew your registration.

my blue slip cost $50 for a change of engine. I think depending on what you are blueslipping it will cost more. ALso if you need it engineered at the same time.
Mine was a simple blueslip which was straight engine conversion. They were more worried about engine capacity.

Pinkslip is $22 if no issues with car

Blueslip is also needed for car modifcation with RTA. i.e engine swaps and chaning engine numbers

Yeah, well that's what I got done. d16a8 with d16a8; No need for engineering. Will do it later when getting the car made into a 4 seater.

Cars' been unregistered for almost a year.

No. FAIL.

Talk to the RTA about what you'll need to do.

Depends who does your pink slip.

^^ As he said.

Technically a pink slip is supposed to certify the roadworthiness of a vehicle, and a car which passes should be able to pass any defect check. Depends how thorough the AIS (Authorised Inspection Station) is.

the blue slip is really cheep... its only expensive when wrk has to be done on the car... eg: side intrusion bars for imports

If you need a pink slip then your rego renewal notice will state "INSPECTION REQUIRED"

blue slip is 22$

if it's just to change records (eg an engine swap) then yeah that's about right. But a blue slip for anything else will be more than that.

I didnt actually get it done..but was told that by the RTA..I asked how much it'd be? she told me 22$ paid to the mechanic. just try your local mechanic and ask them how much.
