Fuel economy and air con

We all know air con increases fuel economy but I'm wondering does the fan speed or temperature effect it for better or worse. i.e. Climate control set to 22 instead of 27 would use more fuel since it's making it cooler?

I'm thinking it makes no difference but just 1 of my random thoughts on my way home from work :)

The amount of time the compressor is running is what determines the extra fuel consumption.

i too have had this thought whilst driving home and playing with the climate control...
