hay, i have a 91 ls teg. and i was driving down the freeway/highway 2day, doin 100k as the required speed limit:angel: ...but i notice that ma steering seems or is loose an IS shaking!!!!!! ,but i stil hav control of direction and everything else seems fine its only at this speed limit or above that it does this.
so wen im doin 70 or 80km/hr its fine, stiff steering as anything..the way it should b and now it seem really odd/different at 100km/hr +.....

it never use 2 do this....an i havent changed anything on ma car recently..an i have the right amount of air in tyres and tyres are perfect....

so.... any ideas? or any similar problems to any1 else da9?

should i just get a wheel alignment an balance done?
which 1 should i get?

coz i did get 1 lik 4 to 6 months ago? cant remba which 1 thou.

so yeah...any ideas on wat i should do??????????

thanks

Mystic, how did you fare eventually ?

I have a similiar problem with my DA9 running 195x60x15 NCT5's on TSW alloys with hub centring rings. Limited tyre selection with 14" rims these days. I replaced all suspension bushes (50+) even though only half were stuffed. Also replaced my CV shafts and bought new tyres. It was still shaking at 100Km+. I eventually took it to a suspension place to check the wheel balance abd he said that all wheels were about 30-40 grams out. He rebalanced and got rid of about 90% of the shaking which is pretty good. I am still conscious of the remaing 10%. I am thinking its these new tyres. When I get some more money I will get 15" rims and a quality set of tyres.

Not just for the shaking. I was chewing out front tyres down to the steel because I couldn't get a wheel alignment done because some of the critical bushes in the front were gone. As it turns out half of the bushes in the car were no good for some reason or another. As the car had done 290000 kms, and the suspension was all apart, it was not that much more expensive to do the lot (in terms of labour). I was also getting the clicking noise from one of the CV joints so it was time to replace both of them as they were the originals (now done 290000 kms). I was also hoping to eliminate all shaking after these expenses. Ony 10% to go. It is now like driving a new car except for the you-know-what.

How did you end up with your vibration problems ?

When i got my wheels balanced the guy told me that alloys are really hard to balance because the weight of the alloy is not always the same throughout the mags..
So did u pay 50+ to change ur buses cos i need to chage i just want to know how much im expecting to pay. i replaced the tie rods and they are pretty expensive...

b4dnuf,

There are approximately 50 suspension bushes in the Integra DA9. They cost me $1100 (which included a bulk buy discount from Honda) and it was about $1000 to fit them (also a bit of a discount from the boys at AbsoluteCar Care).

Considering half of them were worn out and the car could not be aligned, I decided to do the lot so I could eliminate these bushes as a source of my vibration problem.
