on my EG i have a Silver front grill...

i want to paint it black...

should i just use a black spray can???
or is there a more durable paint i can apply???

get etch primer first to help the black paint to stick to your chrome lip. otherwise you'll find you get blocks or paint and other bits just dont stick on.

i would also sand it first . then primer, spray black , clear coat.

give a good few inbetween coats of each

as ek4r said, just prep the surface as much as possible with different grades of sandpaper, apply etch primer and then apply several coats of the black. Don't forget to put the clear coat for that shiny finish, unless of course u like the matt black look. :P This can be all done with a can if u have a steady hand, but in my case I would rather use a gun for a more "consistent" application.
