I have a '99 EM1 VTI-R. The PCV valve has been replaced with a K&N crank case filter. I have a few questions regarding it.
#1 - Does this filter provide any advantage over the standard setup or would I be better off without it?
#2 - Should it be cleaned like a K&N air filter? If so how should I clean it?
#3 - I've read in other threads regarding excessive oil consumption that it can be a result of a faulty PCV valve. I've noticed the engine appears to use a bit of oil (has 120000km on it). Could this filter have anything to do with it?
