View Full Version : crv alarm keeps going off

my parents own a 2005 crv and when i take the key out the alarm keeps on going off. only when put the key in and turn it a bit the alarm goes off. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

How is the cars main battery? If its flat, it may be triggering the alarm.

If the battery is ok, I would try and reset the ECU by removing the BACKUP fuse or the Positive Battery terminal for a minute.

The car battery is fine as my parents recentl got a new one. i will try and remove the positive battery terminal and see how it goes.

Still no luck. Even when the car is started, i can not move shift it to any gears. It will only stay in park.

strange. maybe the immobilizer has failed or something.

Or maybe a door switch is stuck, causing the alarm to get confused.
Open and close all the doors and check that the interior light toggles on and off properly.
