ON start up of my car (ek4 vti-r) the revs jump from normal idle to around 15-1600, after less then a second it jumps back down to normal idle? this hasnt allways happened and even though it hasnt effected the cars driving performance (to my knowledge) its one of those little things that drive me insane. So if any one can help me out it would bemuch appreciated

could it b a clutch fault (highly unlikely but i'll throw it out there anyway!!!)? cos mine is also jumpin on start up 1500 to 2000 and also goes away after drivin a little while.

maybe its your cold idle ? i know on both of my cars they idle alot higher than usual till it gets to normal temperature.

i read somewhere on this forum that the car is controlled by two idle sensors one for cold and one for normal temperature setting. not 2 sure

exhaust shouldnt affect start up revs at all.

Neither would a CAI.
Clunky sound?? checked ur oil lately??

how many km? how do u drive it?? does it get thrashed regularly? hows the throttle body?? clean/dirty?

When it was installed ~ something could be left off / loose etc
