This doesn't count unless he is getting a profit at Autobarn. I regularly announce discounts and stuff happening at Autobarn and Supercheap auto on this forum.

Since he says "local autobarn stores", I don't think he's getting a profit out of this unless he is the OWNER of the Autobarn chain.

 Seriously have a cry, sounds like a dealer is shitty that DD is going into a non specialist retailer.

I'm not employed by DD so I dont make a cent from putting the word out there, so get over it. :)

I do however work for Autobarn, but only as a not on commission sales person so still I don't make a cent on top of my weekly income.

I'm an audio noob. So, are they a step above Alpine and Rockford Fosgate? What league are they in? (Focal, Boston Audio, Cerwin Vega, Polk, Adire?) Trying to get a feel for the brand as I'm in the market for a sub. I've heard of them on CAA but don't know the brand too well.

They are a higher end product for sure, but in saying that, they have products to meet most peoples budgets have a look on CAA in the SPL forum, there is a "we love DD" type thread there.

Yeah but DD are most well known for their subs. They hold a lot of SPL records!

Thanks, just did some quick reading and I might try out a DD512 from what I read on CAA. Although I can't seem to find any info on the 512 (specs, price, etc).

you think i should?

nothing to get over :p

oh so what your saying is that anyone that works for any store can say what they like providing they dont get paid? how does that work in the sense you work for the store and you get paid for working there?

in all honesty it doesnt matter where DD go, good luck to Phil.

Because I get paid regardless of what product I sell ;)

Hmm does SPL77 happen to drive an undercoated 77 Civic that sometimes needs a trailer ?? :)

I've got no problems saying that DD are on sale at Autobarn.. I dont think thats going to make me go out and buy one.

Nothing wrong with DD gear, but that extra dB does come with a price. There are better and cheaper options out there for SQ.. after all this is a Honda forum....we'd like to think we had a bit more class that a majority of the SPL car out there LOL.

Look, its pretty nice stuff from all accounts. But I've been around long enough to see lots of brands come and go... maybe its a flash in the pan and DD will disappear in a few years but I hope not.

I've never seen a brand of Car Audio that has divided people so much. I think its the whole us and them, SPL v SQ thing. Dont discount it guys, it may be what you are looking for... but be prepared to pay big $$, and you may not get quite the after sale support that you might get from more established brands that have more dealers :)

That is a general misconception about DD products, yes those that are successfully competing and using DD, use top of the line gear, but they have a range of products at various pricepoints that will suit all budgets and needs.

Up until recently we were one of two DD dealers in NSW. The only issue we've ever had with DD products is the availability at times due to shipping issues.

There is nothing wrong with the products and as SPL77Civic suggested, there are ranges that go from entry level to top competition level.
